No Mirium Webster is incorrect. FPGAs are uncommitted logic arrays configured at power-up reset by code stored in PROM. FPGAs can be complex and include DSPs (good for maths processing). The code for FPGAs is generally written in C or directly in Boolean expressions, then compiled.

Believe me, I worked with these things for years and years.
