I used to develop all my own b&w film and print in the darkroom. I still have the darkroom but these days I find it a bit of a chore and the chemical fumes don't agree with me despite an extractor fan. I have processed colour too and was a big fan of Cibachrome printing (later Ilfochrome) but it was a difficult process to master and horribly expensive. It never really worked properly with anything other than Kodachrome transparencies either, colour crossover was an issue with Fuji Velvia although if you got it right the results were superb.

In my opinion a wet b&w print on fibre-based paper is unbeatable, but these days inkjet comes very close, especially when framed behind glass.
