As a long time Hornet fan these are all lovely. Not so keen on wasps but they have there moments. I see hornets have reached Yorkshire so the slow warming will eventually bring them to you.

I must look out the images of the Queen that was in our loft space. They are enormous and very beautiful. That was years ago, so no idea where it will be or what Olympus DSLR it was shot with...

Seeing them in the woods is the most interesting for me, unless you get near to the nest when they get a bit more mobile.
