CUDA cores are an nVidia parallel processing technology for video graphic rendering. Adobe requires 96 cores or more and at least 896MB of dedicated video RAM to enable their Mercury Playback Engine for Adobe Premiere CS6 to be accelerated meaningfully. It's not relevant if you aren't interested in video editing.

CUDA was really developed to improve real-time 3D rendering in computer game animation.
