Low level radioactivity isn't too much of a concern as long as you're not stupid with it. Radioactive glass for viewfinders is not a good idea - but on the other side of the camera it's not a problem.
I have a dashboard clock (Junghans J30BZ chrono) out of a WW2 German fighter, dated Jan 1945 (so probably an Me262). After all those years, the Radium luminous compound on the dial still glows beautifully. That's probably why I've developed a twitch - not the caffeine in my coffee after all ! (Warplanes didn't last long then, so it didn't matter, I guess.)
