That was an environment I was in for a chunk of my working life, working for a Canadian WP company called AES. We were all through the civil service, military and energy sector, were until the PC came along and no-one really thought it a threat. One of our main competitors was Wang (US). There was some IBM and a few Olivetti (coming from their typewriter background)
