Re: Computer choice Mac or PC

Let me start by saying that Macs are very nice, but I refuse to pay the extortionate premium that Apple imposes and Windows is much better than many will give it credit and for a modern laptop Windows 8.1 is very compelling - the optimised kernel means almost instant wake-up and of course there is support for not one but two types of touch screen interface. There is also a huge choice of reasonably priced, powerful hardware and there is a wider range of software available for Windows.

Every time I am asked this question I say the same thing - if you know why you want a Mac then go for it, but don't think a Mac will somehow revolutionise your computing. In usability tests Macs and PCs are pretty much even.
