That's right. It is one of the Live View optimised lenses (for later DSLR bodies using Contrast Detect AF), especially if it has been updated to the latest firmware & can be used on all of the latest M4/3's bodies with an adapter (MMF2 or 3). The OM-D models would be a good upgrade path & the E-M5 (3 years old now), E-M10 & E-M5 II (just released) all use CD-AF whereas the E-M1 uses PD-AF (as a DSLR) for that lens. I used that lens quite successfully on the E-M5, but as you know it isn't the fastest lens to focus. If you did go down the path of the OM-D you might want some kind of grip as well but if you didn't use one the E400 then it may not bother you on the OM-D models (the E-M1 has a grip more like the E500 models). If you could get into a camera shop & handle one then you would see what I mean.
