Re: Has the 12-100 replaced your 12-40 / 12-35?

My standard E-M1ii kit is now just four lenses:

- 12-100. Covers most bases in good light.

- Panasonic 7-14. For wider use. I've had my flare issues with this lens, but I've now found polyester gel UV filters for the rear holder that are available and robust. It fixes the purple blob flare problem pretty comprehensively. However, I still crave an UWA with close to zero flare and ideally some nice star burst effects shooting into the sun.

- 17mm f1.8. My preferred focal length and the little 17 is good enough in IQ and suits happily on the camera for lots of uses.

- 30mm f1.4. This is a superb and often ignored lens. The OOF blur is actually better than the 25/1.2 and I sort of like the longer focal length. It makes a great short portrait lens and it's a fantastic lens in low light.

It all fits into Billingham Hadley Small.
