Led lights including those claiming to be LED flash are useful for focsung but not muc else for my purposes. For static subjects they may be OK. Is a samll torch going to be good enough for a wedding photographer on a sunny day.

A well diffused flash is the key and as with all photography light is the key to a good shot. Lets face for the best potaiture a bare flash is hardly seen as flattering with dark shadows and hotspots in the highlights.
There are very few macro diffusers out there as far as I am aware. So it is DIY.
