Thanks Graham, Stewart and Tim. All good advice, but I have been using this lens for 4 years and I have learned to expect some autofocus limitations, although whwn I first had it I thought it was pretty good. No, it has definitely deteriorated very recently, to the extent that it is virtually unusable.

I do need to get it repaired, or replace it. I hadn't wanted to make any more major investments in Olympus kit until I knew what was in the future for the 4/3 system, so it looks like repair is the way to go as long as it is reasonably priced and has a reasonable expectation of success. Thanks again.
