Re: Sensor cleaning

If my memory serves me correctly, the E-1 has a dust-trapping pad fitted inside the body, which over time, will need to be replaced. I don't know if this is also the case with models since then. It...

Re: Black and White - Is digital up to it?

I'd say it probably isn't and won't be until sensors, display screens and printers can output more than 256 variations of grey. I gather that in the medical imaging world, it's possible to display...

Re: Tilt and shift adapter

Harold, all of the feedback I have seen relating to the 15mm's Shift function, are from people NOT using it on a m4/3rds body. If you have any non-macro shots taken with this lens using a m4/3rds...

Re: Tilt and shift adapter

Wow, just noticed how long ago I posted on this thread!
I have a bit of an update, which is that Laowa sell a 15mm macro with Shift ... (covers FF) so 'us lot' will need either a Canon, Nikon or...

Re: Tilt and shift adapter

That's very interesting info Ralph, but where did you get the Shift and Tilt adaptor from? I notice that my E-M1 has this function built into it .... Shooting menu 1 > Keystone Correction. I think it...

Re: Printing from Lightroom

Since it sounds like your printer is outputting different quality images from two different pieces of software, the issue you have is likely to be that Lightroom is using (for instance) the Adobe RGB...

Re: v2 firmware update & Keystone function.

Thanks Ross, that looks as if it's applying this function the way I was hoping it would. Whilst you probably can't apply this as 'accurately' as computer-based software, it will reduce the level of...

v2 firmware update & Keystone function.

Has anyone here used or seen any online reviews of the Keystone function which comes with the v2 firmware update? I use PSP X6, and when you use the Perspective feature in that, [Effects > Geometric...

Re: Mr Maitini & the E-M1's successor.

Over the decades, I've used quite a few different cameras and I suppose it's from using these, and due to some of of their distinct features, that some of the 'improvements' I've listed, originate....

Mr Maitini & the E-M1's successor.

There are very few other designers who have made as big an impact on the design of cameras, as Yoshihisa Maitani; even after formally retiring from the company, he was still involved as a consultant,...

Re: Tilt and shift adapter

Just thought I'd post something on the likelihood of people experiencing some disappointing results as a consequence of using the shift and especially, the tilt functions available on products like...

Re: Olympus Capture now available

Is this an updated version of Studio 2, or the software that allows you to run your camera off a smartphone? ... If that is the case, I've already got that!

Re: E-1 Lightroom profiles

I also have an E-1, and invairably save my images as TIFFs, because that format, unlike Adobe's DNG is completely universal with virtually any imaging software ever made.

Although technology has...

You will get all types of IS on the Olympus's regardless of the lens, because the stabilisation is in the BODY ... so the Panny will be ok in that respect on the Olympus's .... BUT, you will NOT get...

Re: What do you want Oly to release at Photokina?

I would have liked to have seen, or see on the next version after the E-M1, the following ergonomically-related improvements :
[1] Better (beyond the bodywork) buttons on the front next to the...

Re: Olympus confirms 40-150 f/2.8 and 1.4 converter

Re: My 'new' E-1

Bill, I wouldn't go that far in my estimation of Olympus cameras. The E-1 was certainly the foundation-stone of the 4/3rds and m4/3rds formats. I feel the E3 and 4, good as they are, I think were...

E-1 rear grip problem solved!

For those of you who have been looking for what seems to date to be a permanent solution to the problem of the rear grip coming adrift from their E-1's, (and maybe other bodies too!) I'm pretty...

Re: My 'new' E-1

Re: 4/3 lenses no longer working

Fit the MM-F adapter onto another lens, (using your body) and see if you get the same fault. If you do, the odds are that the adapter has a fault.
