Re: Olympus 14-150 mm II f/5.6

I had the Mk 1 version of the 14-150mm lens and found it very useful for holiday photos. It was much lighter and more convenient than my 12-40 & 40-150 PRO lenses, and so although not as fast or as...

Re: A Trolley for Camera Bags at Outdooor Locations

A more expensive, but specialised solution could be something like the Lowepro PhotoStream RL 150 (see https://www.wexphotovideo.com/lowepro-photostream-rl-150-1606763/)

They have larger sizes...

Re: Walking boots

Another vote for Altburg. Having such a wide choice of sizes meant that I could find a pair that were ideal for my feet. I bought mine a few years ago now and they've lasted very well and still keep...

Tax Free Purchases from the EU?

If the UK leaves the EU without a deal, then EU traders will be able to treat us in the same way as Americans, Japanese, etc and sell us goods tax free.

Now if we're buying over the internet, all...

Re: Photography in Public Places

This reminds me of a few years ago when I was taking photos of my grandson playing football in a council park for a local youth team. One of the team managers came to me and asked me what I was...

Re: 35-100 v 40-150 pro

Another factor is that the Olympus PRO lenses with IS work better with the E-M1 Mk II's IS than the Panasonic lenses (and I assume the older 4/3 lenses). And they also work with Pro-Capture better...

Re: Partial lunar eclipse...

It'll be very low down in the southern sky in the UK. At present, I've got low cloud and houses blocking any view of it :(

Hope you have better luck!

Olympus 100 Souvenirs

I see from the latest Olympus magazine that they produced a special 'Olympus 100' version of the Billingham Hadley Pro bag this spring to mark their 100th anniversary. (And if you want one, despite...

Re: Olympus M.Zuiko 14-150mm f4-f5.6

Yes it was pretty much a fixture on my Pen F when I was away on holidays, with an occasional wish that it got down to 12mm at the wide end, and longer than 150mm at the tele end. (It's now been...

Re: Olympus M.Zuiko 14-150mm f4-f5.6

No interest shown on the forum so I've shipped it off to Ffordes for them to sell it for me on their website.

Re: Panasonic Leica 200mm

To resurrect an old thread...

I was out at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod again yesterday, and as I've found in previous years my 75mm f1.8 was very useful for covering the middle of the...

Re: Best 25mm choice

Ffordes are selling a s/h PanaLeica 25mm f1.4 for 260, with very little sign of usage.

I bought mine secondhand a few years ago and have had no problems with it although some users criticise its...

Re: v3 Firmware for mk2 - updates for mk2, m1x and lenses

Having just downloaded 1100-odd images from my trip to the Farne Islands, I've realised the update reset all my image file numbers to start from 000001 again! Grrrr! :(

Re: Grip

I've picked up an 'as-new' Olympus grip from WEX, for 80 and can confirm that has a much feel to it than my Meike one. The textured area of the grip feels much more secure, and the edge on the side...

Olympus M.Zuiko 14-150mm f4-f5.6

It's time for me to sell off some lenses that I'm not using anymore as I've bought others that overlap their range.

And the second is my Olympus 14-150mm f4-f5.6 lens. This is a very useful wide...

I have the Meike version of Olympus' ECG-4 handgrip, which I leave on my Pen-F at all times as I find it gives me a much better grip on the camera when using a wrist strap. However, my one complaint...

Bearing in mind the loss of 2 stops, and hence the need for slower shutter speeds and/or higher ISO settings, is there any real benefit over cropping images using the unextended lens I wonder??

Re: So, is the AF better with firmware 3?

Re: v3 Firmware for mk2 - updates for mk2, m1x and lenses

One oddity with the update... at least I hadn't noticed it before... I use the rear screen to show the super control panel, and today I realised that it was saying Y/M/D at the top left. Sure enough...
