Re: Do We Rely Too Much on Electricity?

Reading the above, it really does seem like there is no sensible joined up thinking going on, no will or driver to actually pull their fingers out and do a proper, sustainable, scalable job of it...

Re: A beacon in the sea of political iniquity

Can’t like or otherwise as all I get is a banner type page offering me a download of an app to watch something on. Sorry.

Re: A beacon in the sea of political iniquity

That’s last comment “"He mostly likely changed the course of American politics and the American presidency. ” is reason enough to lock him up for good and throw away the key!

Re: Whaley Bridge - Town Evacuated

The pictures seem to show the town right underneath the dam, as if you couldn’t have put the dam in a worse place! They’re trying to remove as much water as possible from the reservoir but...

Re: Compulsory army training

It was actually pretty standard practice up at least until the mid 90s (1990’s!!)
I still do it now as a force of habit - it just feels ‘right’

Re: Travel photography?

Got friends who have been to Cuba, would love to go. Familiar with the Dominican Republic - been 3 times, albeit doing the same basic trip over and over. So thanks for your unspoken suggestion!

Re: Have you the time to explain Amazon tv to me

Grand Tour is included ( surprised me!) so is a lot of stuff but they do occasionally remove stuff from Prime. We got a few series into something only for it to disappear without warning. Annoying...

Re: Throstle

Looks like it was very trusting, even with a decent focal length. No idea which was which.

BTW, ‘throstle’ is a new word for me!

Looks like a very young song thrush but throstle seems close...

Re: World Superbikes Donington 2019

Love 8&9 with Rea, Haslam, Bautista and Toprak (can’t spell Razgatioglu!)
I think 9 is favourite.

Re: I do need to find time to take more pictures so...

I too end up doing a huge chunk of the cooking, although we decide ahead what we’re likely to have for the week, it’s no bother and we’re pretty flexible if we don’t fancy what we thought we were...

Re: I do need to find time to take more pictures so...

I’m another having done the same, about 18 months ago too. I found it very strange at first, possibly a bit depressing but with hindsight it was the right thing to do. You’re only here once so enjoy...

Re: Magpie

Nice shot. The ones around here are so skittish that I’ve never managed a decent picture. They get a lot of deserved bad press but are beautiful creatures.

Re: Cremation Integration

Such things invariably happen long before death, particularly if there are children of the elderly person. A friend (one of three sisters) is currently having a terrible time with their mother who...

Re: Refused to refund?

I would have thought JL of all people would do the honourable thing. Maybe credit card company can help?
Saying that, I never throw away original packaging, usually only when the guarantee runs out....

Re: Electric Vehicles Emit more CO2 than Diesel

Generally? Sort out proper contraception, see previous comments re: the Catholic Church

Locally? Stop paying feckless girls to have babies they so obviously can’t afford.

Re: Samsung Folding Phone

Well, it appears that they haven’t done their homework, given the damage caused after just a couple of days use.

Re: Some SATNAVs May Stop working Today

Sat-Nav? What’s this strange talk? Does everyone not use their phones?

Saying that, I think Tom-Tom takes a lot of beating.

Re: Mandarin Ducks 2

Delightful things. We often travel out of our way to a pub in the New Forest to see them in a nearby pond, pretty much guaranteed to see them there, plus a good chance of redstarts as a bonus.

Re: Forum Sill Plagued With Gateway Problems

Surely the point is that the lounge is for all the non-photo stuff. You don’t have to visit that lounge and it’s presence shouldn’t detract from the quality photo chat either. It puts those people...

Re: Far too good to be true?

What’s your intended use?
