Re: Car modifications - is it or isn't it?

Some models of car can be ordered, new, with dozens, sometimes hundreds, of feature combinations. Perhaps an official listing of these should be submitted when applying for cover?

Re: Car modifications - is it or isn't it?

Really? I'm still here and the car was scrapped when it finally rusted too much.

Probably even at 40mph it gripped better. Otherwise, acceleration lifted the front quite a lot.

Re: Panasonic 100-400

My experience with various AF lenses, including the 100-400, is that any confusing background, such as reeds or grass, causes any of them to hunt. If I want to use AF for a dragonfly resting on a...

Re: Panasonic 100-400

I had the severe hunting problem with the Olympus 4/3 70-300mm on my EP-2. The problem is absent on the EM1 but I no longer use the lens.

Grey Dagger Moth Caterpillar

I was surprised to see this. Not only was it late in the season but I found it in our kitchen and, most surprising of all, it was on my hand.

We had experienced...

Re: Car modifications - is it or isn't it?

In the 1970s I bought a sporty little Audi. In those days cars were not so aerodynamic as they are now. I asked my insurance company if it was OK for me to fit a front air scoop to hold the front...

Re: Car modifications - is it or isn't it?

Police are supposed to deal with antisocial behaviour but "nuisance" such as frequent, smoky bonfires and regular loud noise, is local authority territory.

Re: Panasonic 100-400

It is stiff, and not very smooth, with the zoom lock off, but it is less stiff after a couple of years of infrequent use.

I got caught out recently, wondering why I couldn't get the close shots I...

Re: Car modifications - is it or isn't it?

We have a neighbourhood information email network. Through that, I was able to opt for local police alerts.

We were informed that there would soon be local speed checks and to submit details of...

These spiders, about the same size as house spiders, are said to have reached the British Isles in consignments of wine. This was neither in a wine cellar nor...

Re: Could do with some guidance.

I too have a couple of 2.5kg (Tamron) lenses but they don't see action these days. As with my Printing Nikkor 150mm macro setup (3kg), it is often one shot, lower and rest, even though, for the...

Solid tripod? I haven't used one for several years and that was for long exposures.

Re: Could do with some guidance.

For what it's worth, I bought my EM-1 when it first came out and have seen no need to change to a latter model.

I do a lot of macro* and close-ups and my lens for that is the 4/3 50mm f2, often...

Re: A Trolley for Camera Bags at Outdooor Locations

It would be quite a bum bag to carry my 100-400mm!

Flash guns add to the bulk.

A Trolley for Camera Bags at Outdooor Locations

I often go out to local wildlife reserves and other woodlands, etc, mainly to shoot macro. I carry a lens or two for non-macro subjects and maybe a second body.

The above may be in two shoulder...
