Re: Want to shoot film but think there's not much choice? ...

Contax compact .... likely runs on CR2 or CR123A which are still readily available. Plenty of film choice too so it definitely deserves to used if only occasionally ;)

Kind regards,
Simon

Re: Proposing a completely new hire offering

Hi Ian,
One way to help with the cost of procurement is to possibly consider looking at purchasing some second-hand stock. I am sure it would not matter to anyone wishing to hire a lens whether it...

Re: Want to shoot film but think there's not much choice? ...

No Henry you have not, digital has a latitude similar to slide film whereas negative film can be under and over exposed by some margin and still get acceptable results.

Kind regards, Simon.

Re: Want to shoot film but think there's not much choice? ...

Yes Nigel, some of the latest film stock is quite stunning especially in medium and large format. The tonal range is incredible as is the level of detail in a film such as Ektar 100. I really like...

Re: Want to shoot film but think there's not much choice? ...

Henry, I completely understand your rationale. Film photography isn't for everyone, some have never tried and never will while others like yourself have 'moved on' but for anyone wanting to continue...

Re: Want to shoot film but think there's not much choice? ...

And this is the other "beauty" I alluded to in the above post. My M3 is now 58 years old and still capturing 'memories', smooth as silk and Leica will still service it should one be needed. I doubt...

Re: Want to shoot film but think there's not much choice? ...

Hi Henry,
I appreciate and understand your viewpoint, but it's horses for courses IMO. I love my PEN-F and my 'ancient' E-1 however neither 'float my boat' to the same degree as my analog beauties,...

Re: Olympus E-1 plus 14-54, lenses and some accessories

Nope ... that's "depreciation" for you:(

Even though I mostly use my PEN-F these days I still LOVE my E-1 and it's still a better camera than I am a photographer;)

I refuse to get caught in the...

Re: LCE em1x

I totally agree Paul. I am more than happy with the results I get from the PEN-F but when a 4/3 sensor camera is as large as a PRO DSLR, Larger than a mirrorless 35mm format, and even larger than a...

Re: LCE em1x

I agree Andy and I was going to use the D5 for comparison but it is an 'SLR' and not mirrorless so went with the Z6 instead.

I have seen the D5, it's a "bloody monster" therefore when we compare...

Re: LCE em1x

Got to agree with you Paul and when you look at the comparison link below I know which I would go with, not that I have either as I love my PEN-F.
