Re: Pen F review by Robin Wong

Thomas Leuthard has put a photo up on Flickr, taken with the Pen F in November last year!

He doesn't like the 'vario angle display' (flip out screen) and mentions the in-camera processing. I guess...

Re: Extension tubes - what am I doing wrong?

My guess is also you're not close enough. I recently bought a cheap set of FOTGA tubes from eBay and spent some time working out why they wouldn't focus until I realised I needed to be VERY close.

Re: E-p5, silent shutter ?

No - it's not got silent shutter and I doubt it ever will get it (or any other new features by firmware TBH).

Do make sure you have the latest firmware though - it's got EFCS (0-sec anti-shock)...

Re: Pentax Auto 110 lenses....

Three to four years ago, these 110 lenses became very popular amongst legacy lens users and prices for the rarer ones (70mm f2.8 especially) went to silly levels. Before they really took off, I...

Re: E-P5 intermittent rear wheel

Hi Cath - yes, my E-P5 went back to Olympus in Portugal for rectification. Worked fine after repair, and still does.
I think it was down to a bad batch of control wheel sub-assemblies affecting the...

Re: Does anyone here use Focal Reducers...

Canon FD mount has a very short rear flange distance for SLRs. (shorter than EOS) if a focal reducer is available in FD mount it should be adaptable to all your other mounts. Check first though as FD...

Re: Does anyone here use Focal Reducers...

The focal length of the lens will determine how far away you can focus (sometimes not far at all!)
IIRC SRB will make adapters for you on a one off basis, (?) another option is to use adapter...

Re: Does anyone here use Focal Reducers...

IIRC both OM & FD haves greater rear flange distances than M42, so adapters will need an optical element for infinity focus...
Not worth the effort IMO.

Re: a Project to get me motivated !

Forget continuous light for high magnification macro. Unless you will stick to subjects such as moss, and use a tripod, you need short-duration flash for reliable, sharp results with useful DOF.

Re: Hi from the Flooded Northeast :)

A warm welcome from me too. I didn't realise those little Pentax lenses would work on micro 4/3s bodies. Interested to find out more and to see some images.

Re: Does anyone here use Focal Reducers...

Yes extra adapters but the SLR to EOS adapters are all quite compact.
When I got it there wasn't a PK focal reducer available. EOS was the best option, which has proved more useful as I've since...
