Thanks all. I think he has pretty much decided on a Canon EOS 50E with a 24-85mm f3.5/4.5 lens, which coincidentally is a combination that I used to own many, many years ago! Shame I didn't keep it....

Thanks Tim, he's already using an EM-5 for digital but with the exception of the OM707 there was no Olympus AF interchangeable lens SLR
