There's a range of padded inserts available these days. I've got a canvas contractors (builders) briefcase with a padded insert.

I've used both Picolay and Helicon. Helicon does a much better job IMHO, but it costs. Picolay isn't bad, but it doesn't handle focus magnification changes as well as Helicon nor dealing with...
