Re: Tax Free Purchases from the EU?

Sorry for taking even further off topic, but Mosquito Milk (https://www.chemistdirect.co.uk/brands/mosquito-milk/bnd-2n2) works quite well for me, and is made from geranium extract, with only 20%...

Re: Tax Free Purchases from the EU?

Looks a good trip, I hope you enjoy it.
I've taken the Panasonic 14-140 + 100-300mm on a few trips, which seems to cover most things apart from weatherproofing, slipping in the tiny 14 + 20mm...

Re: Tax Free Purchases from the EU?

Sorry Otto, I wasn't clear enough in my post, I think Explore mentioned it in the trip notes, which made me aware, but the form either came from the visa application, or the landing card handed out...

Re: Tax Free Purchases from the EU?

I can't remember which country it was (obviously non-EU), but on one of our Explore holiday trips, I was required to list the serial numbers of all cameras, lenses and electronic goods.
I presented...

Re: Third party battery failure for OM-D EM5 II

Now I accept that this is a slightly false scenario, as one wouldn't normally clout a battery with a roofing hammer, but they have been known to do this spontaneously as well.
This was a discharged...

Re: Third party battery failure for OM-D EM5 II

From where did you buy the battery, was that Jessops as well as the camera?
I believe your warranty lies with the vendor, rather than manufacturer/wholesaler.
It's up to them how they deal with...

Re: Third party batteries for the EM1ii (and EM1X)

The Dot.Foto ones I mentioned came to me from ebay, but note that they are advertised with at least two capacities.
The two I have both seem to charge OK with the Olympus charger, as well as the...

Re: Lifes Milestones. . .

But surely if she is living in a flat above the vets surgery, then that is a private residence, separate from the business; otherwise how could anyone work from a private business run from home? ...

Re: Photo File Numbers

One thing to consider, when using multiple camera bodies, is to ensure that there is no duplication of filenames from the same photo shoot.
When I get home from an outing, I tend to copy all files...

Re: Third party batteries for the EM1ii (and EM1X)

If you can cope with the extra bulk and weight, a very good reason to use the grip, with battery priority set to it. If the grip battery goes flat at a crucial moment, the camera will revert to...

Re: Loss of Exif

Personally I wouldn't know, never having used Photoshop, however I would have thought a possibility would be to use Phil Harvey's EXIFTOOL (https://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/) to cope the...

Re: Life saving app...

My understanding is, that it only needs data access to download the app itself.
If it's already on your phone, all you need is GPS access so it can self-locate.

Many emergency services have now...

Whereabouts in Derbyshire are you?
If anywhere near Buxton, you could always drop in for a brew and try one before committing yourself.

Re: Olympus MMF-3 Micro Four Thirds Adapter

Yes, all three should work fine with the new E-M1, but I've personally only used MMF-1 & 3
If memory serves me correctly
MMF-1 is silver coloured and not weather sealed
MMF-2 is a lighter weight...

Re: Third party batteries for the EM1ii (and EM1X)

To follow on from my Dot.Foto battery comments;

I didn't fully discharge it, but it seems to...

Re: Third party batteries for the EM1ii (and EM1X)

Personally, I've found the ExPro batteries fine for the Mk1, but when I contacted them recently, they were unable to say when, or if, they were likely to be re-stocking BLH-1 equivalents for the Mk2.
