Re: New Filter Adapter for 7-14 Pro

Hi Loup

Yes you have got that completely right. As you know all square filter systems have a holder, which attaches using lens rings; Nisi redesigned the the system so that the lens ring itself is...

Re: New Filter Adapter for 7-14 Pro

You need 100mm filters for the 7-14 Alf because of the size of the lens. Your 80 system wouldn't be redundant though it's still useful on smaller lenses. I use the 9-18 when I want to be compact and...

Re: New Filter Adapter for 7-14 Pro

Hi Graham
Yes exactly right it accepts any 100mm filters. It's supplied with the polariser and rings for 62,72 and 77. They fit on the back of the main adapter. For other lenses eg 12-40pr you just...

Re: How To Use Filters on 7-14!

Hi Enzo
Its looking good I like the idea. Interested in updates. Im also looking at another version. A couple of questions, how is the unit secured onto the lens hood, so that there is no movement...

Re: How To Use Filters on 7-14!

It's performing very impressively indeed. You would expect it to be good but to me it's even better than I hoped. Contrast and colour is very good, sharpness is excellent even in the corners and the...

Re: How To Use Filters on 7-14!

It's just superb! Been out a couple of times to push it and it's surprising how good it is. Lens flare is less of an issue than I though and even stopped down diffraction is less of a problem. A few...

Re: 7-14 Pro

It is stunning no doubts about that. If you look at the image with the sun in it, there were a couple of spot flares going over the building. But they were small, round and easy to remove. I expect...

Re: How To Use Filters on 7-14!

True Paul but you don't have to cut bolts etc. just bond a ring onto the cokin ring and cut a sock up and you're good to go. It all looks neat and tidy too apart from the sock lol. Maybe there's a...

Re: 7-14 Pro

It's a stunning lens raichea, biggest thing I notice looking at the images was the detail its capable of. Could be wrong but I think it's going to be a long time before there are any discounts around.

Re: 7-14 Pro

Its fantastic Paul. I got it from Park Cameras, they had stock before anyone else for some reason, there are a few that have it but I think probably the first to have a filter on it. Happy days. This...

Re: How To Use Filters on 7-14!

Just a note before anyone spots it, the pic with the holder attached to lens shows the rails at the top and bottom, the narrowest part of the frame and less chance of vignetting. Turn it the other...

Re: How To Use Filters on 7-14!

So there you go. Its possible. Hopefully lee or someone will come up with something that works well doesn't mean you have to sell a kidney and uses 100mm. For now Im happy I can do long exposures :)...

Re: How To Use Filters on 7-14!

Light leakage is an issue. Its difficult to get the gaskets on the rear or NDs to block light once the Lee ring has been butchered, and its even smaller, so I made a hood myself (no laughing please)....

Re: How To Use Filters on 7-14!

Note the petal hood has to stick through so its almost touching the filter. Very soft filters like Hitech and Cokin may scratch. Lee are a little tougher so Im not concerned. Maybe some felt on the...

Re: How To Use Filters on 7-14!

The bolts are quite long so it suits smaller lenses, too long for me, I won't use it on other lenses because I use the seven5. So I cut them just over half way. They have nylon tips to stop scratches...

Re: How To Use Filters on 7-14!

Here is the Cokin P499 Universal Ring with what I did. The outer diameter is just about the perfect size to glue straight to a Lee Holder (and a cheap Source holder I got on Amazon). But the holes...

How To Use Filters on 7-14!

I've spent the last week trying to figure this out. No thread so what to do. Many of us want to use NDs and I discovered 100x100 filters laid on the hood will work. 85x85 don't and nothing smaller,...

7-14 Pro

Just got the 7-14 Pro and IMHO if you want UWA this is the lens to have. True its big but thats the nature of the beast. Its sharp! Even in the edges. Contrast is very good, colour is good, and the...
