Re: An unhelpful comment?

Great university. I went to Camborne School if Mines there and the art/photography was great to see on campus at the same time.

Ironically, our lecturer told one chap who had a WH Smith cheapo...

Re: Good financial news from Olympus

Good to see mirrorless doing well!

I am surprised that the portion of total revenue from Japan is so low - I would intuitively expect it to be much higher.

Re: More adders...

Great shots and a very nice mossy and pink setting.

I guess the advantage of a 6D and three flashes is that it's nice and big to hide behind!

Re: Brown Hare Close Up

Shot 3 reminds me of my daughter trying to hide: "If I just cover my eyes, Daddy won't see me!"

Very obliging hare.

Re: Tamron 14-150 VS/ Olympus 14-150

I don't think you will be disappointed with either of those two lenses, or the equivalent Panasonic. I have just bought the Panasonic v2 because it was a secondhand bargain and takes a 58mm filter...

Re: Isle of Lewis (sco) a few questions

The beauty of the Western Isles is not the weather you are experiencing but the change in the light that can happen as clouds get blown away, a gap appears and shafts of light shine through.

Re: Idle Estate Agents

Have you reclaimed the PPI that was mis-sold? Even a small amount is worth chasing with the punitive interest rates applied. All it takes is two letters...

Re: DSLR IQ from a SmartPhone

Strangely enough, a key reason I downgraded my Nokia N8 to an iPhone 5c was to be able to use the WiFi Olympus app. I now have an app-friendly phone that I can connect to my great camera.

Thus I...

Re: Bob's-bits for sale

Hi

No, TTL doesn't work on E bodies. It will be manual only.

Re: Imagine: Olympus want you to design their next camera.

My preference:

Larger battery capacity
Built in GPS
Built in apps - e.g. sunset chart/DoF calculator etc.
Built in mini-tripod base that electrically whirrs out at the touch of a button

What...

Re: Is the 17mm f1.8 a good buy?

Wow, I can't believe it took 26 posts for this option to surface as a competitor! Big thumbs up from me for the Panasonic, it's never off one of my bodies (usually on the gf3 pocket rocket) and hits...

Re: Solar Panels

Dave,

As an economist I am massively in favourite of microgeneration. Also, you're paying for other people's solar (and wind farms, free insulation and winter fuel allowance for those expats on...

Re: Shield bug

Wonderful shots.

I dug one (photo, not a bug) out of my archive and popped it into this year's photo book.

40-150 FT vs mFT

I have just seen another thread pointing to the mZuiko 40-150 deal at Currs. I have long been swithering over whether to replace my standard FT 40-150 mk2 (+adapter) with the R version.

I use a...

Re: The Eye of the Beholder

Well, if the judges are dishing out gongs for technically poor photos then I'm submitting a whole host of photos for next year!

Re: Woburn meet re-work

Probably but I wonder if the participants can tell us whether they still use 4/3 or whether they have shifted to micro 4/3?

No pressure, just interested in the proportion.

Re: "Big Stopper" long exposures on EM-1

Another vote for this method, although purists may dislike it. Worked for up to one minute of exposure on my previous Only E-System cameras, haven't tried the E-M1

If the 30 notches goes longer...

Re: Micro 4/3 travel kit recommendations?

The 20mm would be good because it is small and gives an indoor/low light option. I traveled to the far East last year with one plus a 14-45, 40-150 and 100-300.

The 100-300 got little use because...

MMF3 - should they have shipped

Hi,

I bought my EM-1 back in November and submitted the relevant bits in time for the MMF3 adaptor offer, sent by RM international signed for.

I have not heard a squeak from Olympus about my...

Re: Wrotniak on the E-M1

It's an interesting conclusion but I would suggest that it should be retained as a creative tool, even if it is redundant for taking sharp shots at relatively low shutter speeds. Consider for...

Spring

With a young family I don't get much time to devote to photography these days and being a G3 user, sometimes I don't have any "E" in my system. However, I managed some time to get out and photograph...
