Re: Olympus 45mm f1.8

I've put in on ebay now in the unlikely event that anyone from the forum is currently looking for one and will probably pick up a bargain!

Re: Olympus 45mm f1.8

ah, wasn't aware of that! It may be then that I'll be better off trying to sell it locally and if that fails, then I'll consider reducing the asking price.

Olympus 45mm f1.8

I've decided that having acquired a Fuji 60mm, I'm mainly using that now for portraits/short telephoto and the poor wee Oly is no longer getting the use it deserves so ought to go to a better home....

Re: Any E-PM2 Users ?

actually, looking back at my photos with the 17mm pancake, I really can't find many examples with poor edge sharpness. Perhaps i have a good copy :) as some complain about it. No more than with the...

Re: Any E-PM2 Users ?

Dave, Let me echo that question. I've heard varying reports on the 17mm 1.8 but I would consider upgrading to a second hand one (ideally through a trade -- perhaps even through these forums) but it...

Re: Any E-PM2 Users ?

I got a new red one for peanuts earlier this week. Finally something which is ideal for social low light photography as well as being completely inconspicuous on the street with the touchscreen. The...

Re: Olympus PM2 for 119 GBP

Just happened to spot a local (here in Stuttgart where I am these days) camera shop was unfortunately closing down after over 120 years service. Shame, though their prices really were too high even...

Re: Olympus PM2 for 119 GBP

actually the red isn't unattractive from what I saw in a local shop. Have to say, this is a very tempting offer. I assume that the battery is the same as in the E-PM1?

Re: Pany 7-14 on OM-D

it's interesting to hear the experiences of using the 7-14 with the OMD both with and without the filter. I have to admit that in the first 18 months of using this combination, I was reasonably happy...

Re: Olympus HLD-6 grip including original BLM-1 battery

have put this one on ebay now. I suspect that most in the UK who want this got it free, as I did, with the OMD!

Olympus HLD-6 grip including original BLM-1 battery

No longer need my Oly E-M5 grip and spare battery -- an Oly original having had a bad experience once with a clone! The grip is little used and looks like new as far as I can see.

Looking for 125...

Re: OM-D E-M1 reliability issues - to buy again?

yes, unfortunately f2.8 telezooms can't deny the laws of physics and even the upcoming Oly one looks pretty sizeable. For me, the Fuji 55-200 is the best current compromise of weight, speed, price...

Re: OM-D E-M1 reliability issues - to buy again?

whereas I have one foot in each camp (though it's probably fair to say that Fuji has also borrowed a big toe in the meantime). Let me know when you buy your X-T1 :D

Re: OM-D E-M1 reliability issues - to buy again?

To be honest, I wouldn't buy an X1 Pro for wildlife or indeed for zooms in general as its raison d'etre is the OVF which is designed to be used with primes. The EVF is already better on the X-E1...

Re: OM-D E-M1 reliability issues - to buy again?

X Pro 1 is a great deal just now with the free lens, esp. if you're mainly a prime shooter as that's where the OVF really comes into its own. Which lens are you getting as your freebie? To be honest,...

Re: OM-D E-M1 reliability issues - to buy again?

very good point re. the sensor dust reduction. Fortunately I have seen no dust at all on my X-E1 and one or two reports have suggested that these cameras are among the least prone to dust after m43...

Re: OM-D E-M1 reliability issues - to buy again?

as you've dared to mention the F-word, I would agree that Fuji don't yet have the same lens range but the gaps are filling quite quickly and there is no duplication as with m43. Main thing which folk...

Re: New Firmware 2.0

The number of focus areas remains the same. However, I'm very pleased with this update as it should reduce the number of trips to MFland and the ISO 100 means that the Pana 25mm 1.4 will be almost...

Re: Card Errors

I find using a micro SD card with adaptor often gives "read only " errors so to be honest, I wouldn't trust it in a camera. It works fine in the tablet without the adaptor.

Re: Panasonic 7-14 and Olympus 75-300

The Panasonic 7-14 is now SOLD

I'll reduce the 75-300 to £275 to encourage interest, otherwise it might have to be one for ebay (where they generally go for more).

Re: Panasonic 7-14 and Olympus 75-300

for what it's worth, I've read one or two who said that mark 2 was a little better but also the opposite! It's probably just sample variation? I had the Panny 45-200 before the Oly and I find the Oly...

Re: Panasonic 7-14 and Olympus 75-300

it's the original version in silver. mark II seems a bit heavier for some reason but I'm not aware of any optical differences.

Panasonic 7-14 and Olympus 75-300

well I didn't think I'd be saying this but I seem to have fallen in love with Fuji X :o. It started with a local shop doing a rather good as new deal on the X-E1 and I thought I'll just try this out...

Re: Olympus 17mm...& Panasonic 25mm

Don't agree about the 25mm -- find it has a very distinct rendering which I much prefer to the (no longer in my possession) somewhat brash 20mm. The 45mm is remarkably good for the money and gave...

Re: Olympus 17mm...& Panasonic 25mm

or I could let you have my 17mm 2.8 you sold me a while back :D -- only joking -- the lens has found a happy home mostly on the end of my Pen mini and performs to expectations for the price.

As...
