Re: External SSD drive

Of course it won't fit a large drive into a smaller one - quart into a pint pot! ;)

Re: External SSD drive

I've never understood all that nonsense of A, B, C etc. 'drives' that M.S. use. I guess that it dates back to MSDOS. Linux (and I guess Macs) do it much more sensibly.

Re: Communal flowers, trees, plants and fungi thread

Not for me now!

At one time they worked fine for me, but now I have 'wet macula degeneration' they don't.

Backup using 'clonezilla':

You can backup any OS with it.

Re: Filton Air Museum

I'd like to visit, but it's 120 miles for me - well outside the M25! ;)

Classic 'fir tree' blade roots.

This form of attachment dates back to at least the 40s and was used in the De Havilland Goblin - the first gas turbine military engine to gain type approval, and...

Re: You forgot this one................:-)

Note how they use 'tie-wraps' to prevent people turning the compressor and getting their fingers cut off (but I would really like to see something more substantial than tie-wraps!).

Also, nasty...

Re: Copying DVD's to iMac

I think that Dave wants to 'rip' a DVD to (say) an MP4 or MKV file, so it will play on his computer, rather than to a file in order to mount it as a file system.

Re: Boris Gate

Having the 'Letwin Amendment' go through and Johnson stating that he would break the law by not writing a letter to Brussels, I was hoping that someone would propose a 'Dead in a Ditch*' amendment!

Re: Boris Gate

He stated that he'd got a deal between the U.K. and the E.U., but he hadn't. He'd agreed a deal between him and the E.U. The deal will only be between the U.K. and the E.U. if it gets through...

Re: E-M5 III reviews

Complaints about a camera being too small beat me!

I'm 6' 4.5" with a hand span 1/4 meter (250mm), yet I can handle my E-P5 easily!

How big are the hands of those that would find an E-P5 too...

Re: E-M5 III reviews

Having calibrated your monitor, you then need to calibrate your printer to produce a profile.
The procedure used on the ColorMunki (I expect the Spyder to be similar) is basically that you produce a...

Re: Jessops in trouble - again

My memories of the park go back to the late forties and over the years it has steadily become more heavily used and in many areas the wear shows.

The pond is now filled with green pea soup - or...

That's all there is to be envious of Watford. For years the town planners have been trying to make it 'The Slough of Hertfordshire'!

The only reason that John Betjeman wrote "Come friendly bombs...
