Re: Free software?

GIMP is great but last time I opened it it wouldn't import ORF natively (or any RAW).
You need to use UFRAW or something to do the initial import.
For a short while I did an import in OV3 then...

Re: Laowa Launch 4mm Circular Fisheye for m4/3

Looks like a lot of fun for $199 If you can keep your fingers and feet out of view :)

Re: Hi from South Wales

The E-M10ii only came with a quick start guide and the PDF on a disc.

The full manual is quite a tome!

Having it on paper is very helpful when you're getting to grips with it to begin with if...

Re: Hi from South Wales

Welcome!

FWIW I bought a printed manual for my E-M10ii from ebay from a seller pdf-2-print on a recommendation from here.
They didn't have it available but listed it when I asked them to :)

Re: panasonic lenses

Some of the Panasonic lenses have aperture rings - these don't work on Olympus bodies.
I have one Panasonic lens on my E-M10ii - the 25mm f1.7 and it's brilliant.

Re: Rolling shutter example, add yours

I took these in the MOCO museum in Amsterdam.

The exhibition was very strongly lit presumably with LED sources.

Re: Emulux Combi Filters

Sounds interesting - 42 for a 62mm to go on the 12-40 PRO.

Re: F Stop.............!!

Just curious as to why you’d got the settings you had.
As I said I normally shoot P and scroll from there if needed.
Some of my odder results have been inadvertently leaving A or S mode settings...

Re: F Stop.............!!

Your picture doesn't look unduly soft to me,I'm a little more sceptical about the wisdom.
I've had some shots that apparently "look soft because of defraction" using extension rings for pictures of...

Re: Can this price be for real?

Might be legit - it's in Switzerland and based on the other items and feedback might well be used - there's no indication they're claiming it's new.
They're recently sold a 14-42mm EZ pancake for a...

Re: Jessops deal: E-PL8 150 off and you can claim a free 45 f/1.8

For 299 that's the E-PL8 with the EZ 14-42mm pancake and the f1.8 45mm.
That's a heck of a deal!

Re: Panasonic Lumix offers

Useful, the 15mm was always tempting but too close to the 17mm to spend that much money on.
The aperture ring and MF switch sound like fun for a retro feel but the ring doesn't work on Olympus :(

Re: Continious Bolt

I'm glad it was interesting. I've played with it in the past when I've had people moving through panoramas while I was shooting. It can do a good job of removing things, I guess all the programming...

Agreed - at that price I'd be tempted to try to back order - if I didn't already have the Olympus 17mm f1.8

Re: Continious Bolt

If you are in the mood you might find turning Deghosting to OFF in lightroom will stop it removing the bolt too. I might be wrong though :)

Re: Amazon deal on E-M10 II twin lens kit

Something I noticed when I was choosing my E-M10ii a while back is Jessops seem to have some special bundles - they bundle the 14-42mm II R lens with their kits

The II R lens is good and in some...

The museum is very good. When we were there it was very quiet, the only other guests were a few Brits in 4x4s with Caravan Club stickers and towbars. Nothing exotic in the car park.

We could...

Re: Registering olympus cameras

FWIW - I used to have to scan receipts for expenses on a flat bed - slow and boring. Times moved on and I discovered that a quick photograph with my iPhone was just as acceptable.
Now I use an app...

Re: Focus point indication during playback

Blimey - so many solutions to a problem that you can't help Olympus could solve in Workspace!

I'd need a program that works on Windows with Olympus cameras - seems to be a unicorn!
PhotoME does...
