Re: Discovering a village. (lots of images)

You might well laugh but there are quite a few photos of the Pembroke area published in tourist brochures & WDA leaflets which contained a fake / stuffed sheep (not that you could tell when we were...

Re: My Last Craft Fair

Yep I think you've hit the nail on the head there Stephen everyone has a camera and very few care or even realise just how bad the photos they take with them are. TBH just a few years ago I would...

Re: My Last Craft Fair

Sorry to hear it hasn't worked out for you John but I'll bet that the lack of sales has nothing to do with the photos themselves...

A few weeks ago I found myself in Ludlow and there happened to...

Re: little Hedgehog

That certainly doesn't help but there is also another very significant factor in their decline... the massive explosion in Badger numbers since the 70's / 80s.

Re: Any knowledge on 'Spectral Trace' for UV filter glass?

I would think he's looking for the wavelengths of light that UV and/or daylight filters are supposed to be blocking. There is a little information about UV + daylight filterd here:...

Re: Any php specialists out there?

***EDIT
I think you are right in that the other scripts are using fixed offsets to get the values directly from the file - php exif_read_data is definitely looking at the right place within the file...

Re: Any php specialists out there?

I've looked a bit more at it and have reached a dead end - calculating the crop factor and using that to calculate FL from the [FocalLengthIn35mmFilm] value doesn't seem to be possible either as the...

Re: Any php specialists out there?

Using tagnames or fixed offset exif_tagname(0x920a) returns the same thing "100/677" it's not a case of not getting the right header or value its a case of it not being what you would expect it to...

Re: Any php specialists out there?

In short I don't quite know - all the 3rd party exif readers I tested return the correct focal length - which it must somehow be calculating from the value 100/677 that is stored in the focal length...

Re: Any php specialists out there?

OK, I did a little bit of reading and it seems the difference in the exif tags is due to the newer cameras using exif version 0230 rather than 0221. With the help of the php exif manual specifically...

Re: Any php specialists out there?

The problem is that the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3 and the Olympus Pen E-P3 appear to abandon the use of the EXIF.ExposureTime and EXIF.FNumber etc and now appear to record the details under new tags...

Re: Microsoft panorama software for free

That mirrors my thoughts of Microsoft ICE. I first used it several years ago and with the few panoramas I've done it has always produced the best results with the least effort.

Re: FL50 or FL50R

Further to that an FL-50 + a set of PT-04 (or similar) radio triggers will cost alot less than an FL-50R and be a far more flexible / useful solution to off camera flash anyway.

Re: Editing posts and for sale section
