Re: Campus censorship ‘an epidemic’ at UK universities?

Overall, I think the problem is massively overblown by the wrong, the far wrong and the alt-wrong, who seem to have some kind of bee in their bonnet regarding freedom of expression. I'm not sure why...

Lovely, late autumn colours, and lovely reflections in the second.

Re: Rumors: Olympus to shut down camera division in less than 8 months

Rumours like these leave me conflicted, which may well be their purpose. On the one hand, they might have a fair basis. On the other, they might be malicious. A malicious rumour could be hugely...

Re: Rumors: Olympus to shut down camera division in less than 8 months

I already have a Sony A7II kit to accompany my Olympus stuff, so no worries in terms of having something with a future. Oddly enough, Mr. Gear Head doesn't 'arf fancy the Canon M6 Mk II, but it's...

Re: Olympus OI share

I always use Easy Setup - swipe up the icon for switching the camera off, select easy setup and then scan. You then just take a photo of the QR code displayed on the camera. It's never easy or...

Re: Rumors: Olympus to shut down camera division in less than 8 months

Oops - I've just posted the same thing in the lounge. I don't want to be negative, but the harsh reality is we have a lot of camera manufacturers and a shrinking user base (especially in the West). ...

Cos Play and Proud Flag Bearers in Xintiandi

Xintiandi, bordering the French Concession, is old Shanghai. It is also the site of the first congress of the Communist Party of China. The first week of October was 70th anniversary of the...

Hey - E-Fin have pulled all Olympus Gear

I was ruminating over the 17mm f1.8 vs the Leica 15mm over the last week. Both reasonably priced on E-Fin. I took another look at their site last night and they’ve gone from selling lots of Olympus...

Re: Strawberry Hill - Twickenham

They look good. The sky is perfect - I only attempt the selections and so on, to darken the sky, if that is where the white point would otherwise be.

Luzhi Water Town, Jiangsu Province

From a land where a common refrain is "too many people", I give you too many photos. All taken with the E-M1 mk 2 and 12-40

For the following photos, I'm grateful to my friend's wife who took us...

Re: Workspace with Panny RAW files

The Silky/Quirky Pix software that comes with Panasonic cameras (and is available to download for free) is actually a fine raw converter. I recommend having a play with that.

Re: Tirana

Nice photos. It’s a city that’s on my todo list if not be bucket list. A couple of people where I work have holidayed at one of Albania’s resorts and really enjoyed the place.

Re: A Sun Kissed Grevillia.

It’s an odd looking plant. I like it and these photos. I also like the processing - I have the Sony Only version of C1 and have been very impressed with its output compared to Lightroom.

Re: A Fine City

Agreed. A nice set of photos from a bargain lens. I understand the Panasonic 25mm f1.7 is a tad sharper than the Olympus 25mm f1.8, so I’d expect little difference between it and the 12-40.

Photoshop for iPad is here

But try not to get too excited. Most of my Photoshop workflow is missing. Sharpening options are either not there or ingeniously hidden, as is canvas size (simpler way to add a frame, assuming you...
