Actually, I wrote this out when I was gob-smacked that my E-M5 didn't work the first time! I sincerely hope you'll get there eventually *chr

I use Windows 7 64 bit with Olympus Workspace v.1.2 software loaded.

Re: My first proper Pro-Capture play

This afternoon, a Sparrowhawk got caught by its talons in the netting over our greenhouse. While my wife worked to free the bird, I took the opportunity to try the pro-capture mode on my E-M1-ii. ...

Re: E-M5 III reviews

It's a bit like cars - you don't reject the whole package because you don't like where they've put the foglight switch.

Re: E-M5 III reviews

If you only do landscapes then the E-M1 Mk.ii may not be a significant upgrade for you.

For me, interested in wildlife photography, the improvement in speed of operation was profound. If I was...

Re: Loss of Exif

Usually, one stacks photos in order to change something throughout the stack, so the photo data will not be the same for each individual shot. It seems that Photoshop always 'loses' some EXIF data,...

Re: A Trolley for Camera Bags at Outdooor Locations

A birding friend uses an Andersen shopping trolley to carry his kit with large tele lenses. These are available with pneumatic wheels for rough ground or even towed behind a bicycle. See...

Re: Olympus Air A01

I find that photos which don't look 'sunny' can be improved by increasing the yellow saturation only. This avoids over-saturating other colours.

Re: Un-Distorting Edges of Wide Angle Images

I'm surprised that the article in the link states that there's no Photoshop filter to do this.

I frequently use the Filter | Distort | Spherize - Horizontal Only menu to do exactly this! A...

Re: Olympus Air A01

I find that no one profile suits all. A lot depends on the subject and I usually find I have to do some tweaking to make the image match my perception of the original scene. One advantage of...

I look forward to seeing your posts. I spent 6 weeks touring NZ a couple of years ago and was 'blown away' by the scenery and the huge variety packed into such a small space. Be great to see a...

Re: Four Thirs to MFT adapter - not made by Olympus or Panasonic

My apologies for having mis-interpreted your post. The Olympus 11-22 is noted for its lack of distortion, so I'm puzzled to understand how a simple tube can introduce such a result, unless the faces...

Re: Four Thirs to MFT adapter - not made by Olympus or Panasonic

Viltrox JY-43F only 29.99 at Amazon UK.

I assume that this was one of their converters that include lens elements, not the plain 4/3 to MFT.

Re: E-M1(ii) silver edition or Mk3?

My back-up is an E-M5 (silver) It's a lot smaller than my E-M1 but does have the weather sealing, which I value 'in the field'. It survived tropical rainforest in Borneo with no problems. The body...

Re: Another Orchid - "Dockrillia striolata"

Nice orchid photos, I take a lot of miniature orchids and find they make fascinating subjects. I'm not sure what you mean by adding [C1-C12] after the file numbers. Are these stacked?. If so, I'm...

Re: Could do with some guidance.

If you want to continue to use four-thirds, rather than micro 4/3 lenses, then you need a body with phase-detect AF, which currently means E-M1 Mk.i or ii. It is rumoured that the forthcoming E-M5...

40-150 f/5.6 Don't underestimate it

I know it's sometimes referred to as a 'plastic fantastic' but the compact and very lightweight 40-150 is a brilliant travel lens. I have no complaints about this shot taken at full aperture (f/5.6)...
