Re: Purple Haze

I think the idea is to mimic colour infrared film like Kodak Aerochrome.

Haha!

I did try 'colour correcting' these in Lightroom just to see what would happen - the results were not...

Purple Haze

I recently got my hands on some Lomography Lomochrome Purple (https://shop.lomography.com/en/films/120-film/lomochrome-purple-film-400-120-5pack) which kind of mimics the legendary Kodak Aerochrome...

Olympus IS-3000 Part 2 - Photos

Following on from my post about my 'new' Nineties wonder machine Olympus IS-3000 (http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=50888), I've now put a couple of rolls of film through it. The first...

Re: Olympus IS-3000

Yes, we'll see. Most of the way through the first roll, probably finish it off tomorrow. One advantage of having the zoom lens, I guess, is not having to crop too much.

It's certainly not as...

Olympus IS-3000

I've never been a fan of bridge cameras, film or digital. But I had to give this one a go. Spotted this IS-3000 on Ebay various bits of kit for a grand total of 30.

Re: Wartime Bridgend

Thanks!

Thanks John. Not bad for a camera that cost me 30 I guess. :)
I suppose the Isolette with the Solinar lens would have been quite a high end camera in its day though.

Re: Honestly, do you like autofocus?

My preference for hand held shooting is usually auto focus, it's quicker and more accurate than focusing manually, for me at least. However there are times where manually selecting the focus is...

Re: Wartime Bridgend

Yes you're probably right about the quality. I also have an Isolette with an Agnar lens which is not so sharp and has more of a vintage look to it. And Tri-X probably would have suited better if I'd...

Re: Wartime Bridgend

I like the look of the Isola 1. A bit limited on shutter speed I believe though - isn't it limited to 1/50th sec or something?

Thanks!

Re: Wartime Bridgend

Thanks Phil! Not many quality medium format cameras you can fold up and put in your pocket. I really should use it more often though.

Re: Question: Do we do it for the dopamine addiction?

I like having likes as much as anyone, but quite often I post photos that I know aren't going to get many likes just to be contrary. :)

Wartime Bridgend

Took my Agfa Isolette II to a Wartime Bridgend event last weekend. It's from the 1950s rather than 40s but it still looks the part at events like this. I also have an Isolette with an Agnar 75mm...

Re: Royal Garden Party

The Iphone was nothing to do with me though. I realised I was never going to get a clear shot of the Queen from where I was standing so decided to take a shot of the person in front of me instead....

Royal Garden Party

Last week my wife and I had the pleasure of going to a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. Cameras were allowed, but not 'large cameras'. So my little Olympus Mju II was my choice for the day....

Re: Fancy taking photos with a 90 year old camera

Beautiful. Does it take film, though, or plates? You can actually buy dry plates ready made:
https://www.pictoriographica.com/

And plate holders may soon be available via a Kickstarter as well:...

Re: Gloucester Cathedral

Although Gloucester's not that far away from us I'd never actually been to the Cathedral before. Definitely worth a visit.

Re: So how Polycamerous are you?

Just so long as you don't show it to my wife! :)

The H1 was going to be the camera to replace all the others, and in terms of use it is - I use it far more than any of the others and I could...

Re: So how Polycamerous are you?

Yes I develop all my own film, B&W, C41 and E6. E6 is really not that difficult with the modern 3 bath kits like Tetenal. I do B&W printing in my darkroom. I have tried colour printing but didn't get...

Re: Avebury

Thanks Richard. I've always liked the look of those Zero Image cameras. And that shot is truly spectacular.
