Re: A few more friends from Longleat

Lovely images. Maybe the koala has just heard this week's sad news that he's technically extinct....

Re: Messing around with the E-520

The nephew's absolutely not getting the 14-150! The E-520 is heading his way this weekend though, along with 14-42 and 40-150 so they'll keep him busy. [emoji3]

Re: Messing around with the E-520

Thank you and I agree about print size too. I've got 16" prints from my 5MP E-1 which regularly attract favourable comments at home... Marvellous what you can do with software nowadays, and Genuine...

Re: Manchattan Skyline

Lovely light and nicely composed too - nice leading lines to the blue sky in the distance (which is not such a feature of Manchattan from my childhood memories!).

Re: Along the Rochdale Canal

That's come out rather well. Ancoats brings back memories - I remember visiting my grandmother in the hospital there in the late '70s.

Re: Messing around with the E-520

You see the thing is, when the other camera I am mostly using at the moment is the E-1 (unless the photos are being used for a specific purpose which requires more modern equipment), the E520 kind of...

Messing around with the E-520

Just picked up an E-520 in super condition along with the 14-42 and 40-150 kit lenses plus FL36 flash for the princely sum of 100 - what a bargain. It's for my partner Elena's teenage nephew who...

Re: Any 11-22 lenses looking for a new home?

Hi Phill - literally just opened it a couple of minutes ago! Lens has arrived unharmed and in great shape.

Love the box it came in!

Cheers,

Jon

Re: Any 11-22 lenses looking for a new home?

Bit unsure about buying from them. The website has no information about condition or what is included (caps, hood, etc) so unclear what you're getting....

Any 11-22 lenses looking for a new home?

My E-1 was made for an excellent condition 11-22 that needs to get out more.... If your neglected old glass fancies an upcoming trip to Vermont get in contact! Cheers, Jon

Re: Ruminating on raw vs JPEG...

Hmmm I'm going to put the cat amongst the pigeons here.... Mostly I use Fuji bodies and having set up the JPEGs the way I like them, I hardly ever use raw. Raw + JPEG for important shoots but even...

Re: Digital Dinosaur and lovely Lumix visit Brugge

Thank you! You're right about the look of images from the E-1 although it wouldn't be my first choice in poor light given noise quickly becomes an issue. Over the weekend I was taking some...

Yes - variant of a Kodak sensor design also used by Leica and Hasselblad. The colours it produces are lovely.

Digital Dinosaur and lovely Lumix visit Brugge

It's taken me a long time to get there, but I finally visited Brugge a couple of weeks back. No idea why we insist on calling it Bruges - which is the French way and French doesn't actually go down...

Lumix 14-150 meets the digital dinosaur

Following on from Phill's recent thread, a quick post from me after my first try with the Lumix 14-150 on my E-1 this afternoon. The photos are nothing special but a nice reminder about how nice...

Re: Old Lumix 14-150 Walkabout

Hopefully there'll be some shots soon! I'm not expecting amazing things from the IS, at least not when compared to my more modern cameras (Fuji X-H1 and Lumix GX-80) both of which offer c5 stops. ...

Re: Old Lumix 14-150 Walkabout

Thanks Phill - it's sadly neglected although I'm hoping to put some new things up there over the next week or two. If people dig back into the archives there are a couple of E-1 related articles...

Re: Old Lumix 14-150 Walkabout
