Re: Pancake/Body Cap lens advice

Hi Doug,
I quite like my 9mm body cap, is plenty sharp, tho perhaps won't prizes in that area. it also eliminates two "annoyances:" auto focusing and aperture adjustment. The distance lever is too...

Re: E-500 Macro

A cheap close-up solution with good IQ is to get an ex-25 extension combined with a 40-150 kit lens. You'll get 1:2 magnification (i.e., a 34mm wide subject will fill the frame) at 50mm focal length,...

Re: Hi-Res pictures by sticthing

Hugin is an amazing tool, free, too. I was a slow learner, have barely got past the first stages, but I love how it allows you to define the stitching points, I.e., the bits that must line up...

Re: What was the best "Gadget" that you got for Christmas

A 2.4 gigahertz USB antenna (500 milliwatt) so I can sit in my truck outside shops that offer free WiFi and be the "wierd guy on his laptop in a truck with the funny antenna stuck to the bumper."...

Re: Battery charging 'in the field'

If size is a concern, the Wasabi units are about as small as possible, accept 110-240 volts and come with a "European" plug.
I was "off the grid" for two weeks and used a folding solar panel every...

Re: Battery charging 'in the field'

I've used a folding solar panel designed for automotive voltages, then fed that to battery charger from Wasabi (charger works just fine with Olympus batteries and has a 12vdc input and comes with...

Re: Might be of interest to E-1 fans

Nice flyin' machines! Do you have the old version 40-150? And if so, do you like it? Am thinking of getting one as they're so cheap, for the brighter aperture.

Re: Oly 9-18 verses sigma 10-20.

I have the 9-18 but wish I'd bought the 11-22 instead. The former is quite nice, very sharp and light weight, but used prices on the latter are similar, at least over here. And my 9-18 did fall apart...
