Black Redstart

A few shots of a female Black Redstart which I found in Lowestoft a couple of days ago. It was moving about high up on the railings at the foot of the large wind turbine, and flying up to catch...

Re: Autumn Jay

Many thanks for all your kind comments.

Iain, this Jay was in a local park, so I suppose it is used to encountering people moving about. It flew up from the ground near me and perched in a tree. I...

Re: Jammed lens hood on the f4 300mmPro

I have got a can of Silicone Spray somewhere. I use it on my curtain rails to make it easier to open and close the curtains and it works like magic.

I don't think I will use it on the 300mm lens...

Re: Rumors: Olympus to shut down camera division in less than 8 months

That seems to be an earlier rumour dated 12/3/19. So many rumours these days, it's hard to keep up.

Re: Field test of MC-20 + 300 F/4

Yes, they all look really good to me Tord. I wish you wouldn't keep posting all these excellent shots of 'Beardies' as I am getting rather envious. :)

Re: Jammed lens hood on the f4 300mmPro

Wow, I thought it was worth a try but I wasn't really convinced it would solve your problem. Glad it worked for you. :)

Re: Jammed lens hood on the f4 300mmPro

Touch wood it hasn't happened to me yet. However I have found that it is easier to turn the hood by pinching it between my forefinger and thumb on one side and twisting it. If you hold it by both...

Re: Guadeloupe carnival

They look good to me Tord. Vibrant and colourful shots which capture the excitement of the occasion well. As with all your shots, excellent feather detail. ;)

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

Thanks Mark. We get quite a few migrant Black Redstarts here. They like the industrial fabrication yards as there is plenty of junk lying about where they can search for food. Common Redstarts are...

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

A Black Redstart on the seawall at Lowestoft. I was slowly edging to my left to get the light at a better angle but two dog walkers beat me to it. No more Black Redstart. :(

Re: Posing Stonechat

Many thanks for your kind comments Barr1e and Keith. I think the Mk II and 300mm f4 is a great combination, especially with the MC-14 attached (I don't think I could hold the MC-20 steady enough.) I...

Re: A Night on the Town

A very nice set Mark. Mind you, with the first one I did try to blow the stars off my computer screen before I realised that they weren't dust particles. :)

I see the body of the E-M5 III is manufactured from plastic. Does this mean that the non slip finish on the finger and thumb grips are moulded directly into the body or are they separate units which...

Re: Muntjac

A nice find and two good captures Barr1e. However they don't look like Muntjacs to me. I think they are probably Roe Deer, which are much less common in my part of the country.

Re: Site virtually unuseable today!

I have just experienced the 504 Gateway Timeout error. I attempted to access the site many times without success, gave up and then tried about 15 minutes later and it worked. Very odd.
