Re: EC-20 and 50-200 SWD

Thank you for your nice comments !

50-200 SWD + EC-20 was a nice combo and in 75% situations I was happy.

What I was missing was:
-fast focus for BIFs;
-very good IQ at middle&long...

Re: EC-20 and 50-200 SWD

Recently I switched to 300mm F/4.0 and I am no longer use 50-200 SWD + EC-20. I sold it.

The new lens, of course, is a massive step ahead regarding IQ, speed, IS, precision.

Looking back, I...

Re: Panasonic to announce their first Full Frame Camera

Panasonic promised to deliver an 8K camera until 2020.

So they need an 40Mp sensor for video, not for photo.

Here is an article from 2017:

Re: Is Olympus developing a new 150-400mm PRO Zoom?

I prefere it first of all better (IQ) then Panasonic, a PRO lens without any compromises. I do not mind if it weights a bit more.

If is about portability, you cannot beat 75-300mm or 100-300mm...

Re: New lenses coming

There are no FF/APSC echivalents for those Olympus lenses.

I mean Nikon 100mm F/1.4 which weights 1kg and costs 2000$ has similar glass as Olympus F/1.2 lenses.
When Nikon makes an F/1.8...2.8...

Re: New lenses coming

Producing PRO lenses does not make the system less portable.
Olympus will still sell the light lenses for those which want portability. The idea is to offer higher IQ to the Olympus users which are...

Re: E-M1 Mark II review by Mircea Bezergheanu

Yes, I can confirm. Capture One seems to be the most compatible raw editor for E-M1 II, much better than Olympus Viewer 3.

Unlike previous Olympus cameras, the implementation of JPEG engine for...

Re: Is it worthwhile repairing a 12-60 SWD lens?

It depends how much it costs to fix it.

My 12-60 had the aperture stucked recently. Olympus Service fixed it for aprox. 120 Euro.

I had the same problem with 50-200 SWD. This one was cheaper...

Re: 75 - 300 Mkll

75-300mm will focus faster on Olympus body, while 100-300mm will probably focus faster on Panasonic body.

So the choice anybody needs to take is clear : the body decides the lens.

Re: EC-20 and 50-200 SWD

Thank you for your comments.

All these 3 photos are F/9.0 because I had plenty of speed, otherwise I would not hesitate to use F/7.1.

Recently I discover that even F/7.1 can look nice,...

Re: EC-20 and 50-200 SWD

I just tested E-M1 MARK II + 50-200 SWD + EC-20.

It works very fine, much better than on E-5:
-faster focus, good enough for birds in flight (I felt very comfortable with speed);
-it's very...

Re: Panasonic Leica 100-400mm F4-6.3

I am wondering if those sellers are reliable.

I saw incredible prices in this period especially on amazon.de, but were sellers with very strange names.
I saw 25mm F/1.2 for 844 Eur or 300mm...

Re: Sigma 30mm f1.4 DC DM Mft fit

Because it is designed for APS-C, the mft camera it is using only the center of this lens. So it has advantages against native mft lenses at the same price range:
-sharp corners;
-less vigneting...

Re: Decentred Four Thirds adapter?

Why do you think adapter is decentered and not the lens ?
When a lens falls down, an element inside can move a bit. The result is a decentered lens. Can be fixed in service.

There are lenses...
