Re: Fancy a quick tickle?

The second image shows an Aphidius wasp laying an egg. Something I have never seen.

"Impregnating " is still appropriate, as mummies will result.

Excellent images.

Re: Travel photography?

Got friends who have been to Cuba, would love to go. Familiar with the Dominican Republic - been 3 times, albeit doing the same basic trip over and over. So thanks for your unspoken suggestion!

Re: Throstle

Lovely shots of this perky and confident looking little Song Thrush Andrew. It's good to know that shiny new ones are still being produced in some parts of the country, as they are a thing of the...

Re: Ectemnius Cephalotes

Lovely images but the lack of a yellow stripe across the back of the thorax and the striping along the legs, makes me doubt that it is cephalotes. Some of the species are very difficult to separate....

Re: Throstle

Looks like it was very trusting, even with a decent focal length. No idea which was which.

BTW, ‘throstle’ is a new word for me!

Looks like a very young song thrush but throstle seems close...

300mmm F4 rear cover part falling off!

Something to watch out for.

I had some trouble mounting the 300mm F4 IS Pro after swapping out the teleconverter. While juggling camera, lens and teleconverter I couldn't find the orange mount...

Re: The Compliant Admiral

Extraordinary shots! I'm not usually keen on flash shots of butterflies but the way the light has caught the blue scales is remarkable. How about having a go at stacking?

Re: Spotted Flycatchers with 300+MC-20

Yes, very nice indeed Andrew. From the second photo you appear to live in a castle with a portcullis. That's a surprise. :)

Re: New MC 20 announced.

That is very impressive Andrew. Have you taken any at full aperture for comparison? A 'quick grab shot' of a Spotted Flycatcher - you know how to rub it in. :)
