Re: A Sun Kissed Grevillia.

You can get Grevilleas in the UK, but most of them are either Canberra Gem, or one or two others. I’ve been collecting them for years and love them. Many will grow outdoors in the UK. I did have a...

Re: Camera protection

I’ve only just seen this post, but I use the Optech midsize zoom (the next size up). It nicely fits the EM1 with 12-60 fitted, and that’s almost the same as the 12-100. It’s great for stashing in a...

Re: Photography Show 2019 - Can we manage to meet up this year

Re: Anyone recommend a skin type case for an EM1 mk1?

I’ve got the longer Optech one for my OM1 mk1 and 12-60. It fits fine and is really protective.

Re: Olympus Kit for sale from long standing original member :)

Great prices on these lenses now. Sadly I won't be offering to buy them - as I still have my own copies of them.
I'd always look for a second-hand lens on this group rather than from any of the...

Re: Zuiko Digital ED 12-60mm

I did just that - sold my 11-22 and bought a 12-60 which is great! Only trouble is, I can't now bring myself to sell the 14-54 as well. I hate parting with lenses even if I have a replacement. I do...

Re: Christmas..Bah Humbug...

It's not Christmas, or the decorations I object too. It's the whole attitude of commercialism and greed. I'm sure many children (and adults) now have no awareness of the true meaning of the festival....

Re: What will be the substance of the announcement

My ideal solution would be an Exxx size body, capable of handling the larger 4/3 lenses but with the improved everything that the OMD has. It seems that the large size bodies are on the way out...

Re: New Shoes? Neigh lad!

As a palaeontologist I would say that whether or not the legs connect at that point before birth ( seems unlikely to me though), the chestnuts are the vestigial remnants of the disappeared inner toes...

Re: Garden Birds

No, the bird box was a commercial one, although I chose a nice sturdy one. I didn't want other birds to be able to break in and I do get a Gt Spotted Woodpecker in the garden. Is worth noting though...

Re: Youngsters Employment ?

I worked hard to get a science degree in the 1980s. It eventually got me a job in a governement funded institution. However it took 2 years of unemployment before that. Since then I've had a...

Re: Help on Film

I used to develop loads of B & W film in work - used a squirt of wetting agent in the wash, then hung up by one end in drying cabinet and one very quick light pass with a squeegee. Never had...

Re: Spot the Difference

Blimey, subtle or what?

I got two before my eyes gave up. I need a bigger screen for this kind of thing.
Good idea though!

Re: Did I imagine this?

I like Glen Morey too - especially when our Sainsburys used to reduce it in price quite a bit!

Re: Greytop

Top marks for a great transaction. Lens in perfect condition, well packed, and Greytop has been marvellously patient holding the lens for me for quite a while now!

Burghley Horse trials

Had a great time here last weekend - the first time I've been on Cross Country day since having a decent camera. Great fun!

The expressions on their faces is great - both riders and horses!

Spider- Don't look if you're squeamish!

I was sitting quietly the other evening - on my own, when this comes sauntering across the carpet. Freya the cat saw it as well, and tried to tuck it under the television for later, but I managed to...

Re: Should I buy an E-PL1?

A few weeks ago I was in my local Currys and noticed a salesman and customer talking over one of these. They had a EPL3 as well and the guy was weighing up the odds. Unfortunately for me, the...

Re: Is the 12-60mm swd worth the Xtra?

Since buying my 14-54 I haven't gone back to the 14-45 once. It's such a great lens I'd happily put up with the extra weight - and it's not too heavy really! The extra telephoto length is brill, as...

Re: Well, I found it funny!

As a geologist I've always used my rock hammer for everything - never could see the point of buying any other sort. Totally irrelevant though, I know!

Re: What type of LCD protector are you using on your E30

I use the Vikuiti ones from Protection Films 24.
They're fairly thick and don't curl up at the edges at all. They also come ready sized for Everything!

Can't recommend them highly enough....
