Yes, at 7mm & wider when cropping (to 3:2) in Capture One as there is further image area available.

Yeah, they have their place. I saw a Little Wattlebird chase off (attack on the ground actually) a Whipbird this afternoon. I think the Whipbird thanked me for intervening. ;)
