I've just (like 2 hours ago) got back from the US. I'm doing a photo day with Mike on Sunday, so I'll be in touch with some date options then.

Re: Fens Falconry BIF meeting?

David

I appreciate that there are some pretty awful people out there, but Fens Falconry are run to a high ethical standard. I've known Mike (the owner) for many years. He's a young guy and is keen...

"What?" I hear you say... If you can get hold of the exceedingly cheap C-180 1.7X Olympus teleconverter, and a 37->52mm (in either one or several steps), you get this (apologies for iphone image):

Re: 15 frame sequence E-M1 BIF after firmware update

Cliff - the benefits should be apparent whatever rate for 'H' you select. The maximum actual rate will be dictated by the lens - i.e. How fast the lens aperture can close down and open for each shot....

Re: 15 frame sequence E-M1 BIF after firmware update

Worth remembering with the FT glass, they were never designed to run at 9fps. So if you use them wide-open, no problem, stop them down and the aperture mechanism can't keep up and you frame rate...

Re: 15 frame sequence E-M1 BIF after firmware update

Are you happy with your E-M1?

Love it... Best camera Oly has made in years. About 13k shots on mine since I picked it up at Christmas from the in-laws in the US. No lockups. I've previously owned the...

Re: Old OM-D EM ONE and New+V3 firmware

Agreed, but having a good place to start if you're not an engineering nerd will stop you throwing your gear over a cliff. I have had someone say, almost in a p'd off way, that I'd shown them the...

Re: Falconry Day

I was a bit dubious about the longevity of the E-M5 vs the E-5. I use my camera a lot, it's a work tool and it doesn't get babied. However, the E-M1 fully fits the bill - a much more robust feeling...

Re: Falconry Day

I must make an apology for not canvassing who uses raw vs JPG first - I shoot exclusively in raw and my workflow is based on that.

You can get a lot more detail out the highlights and shadows,...

Re: Falconry Day

The 75-300 is a fine lens - sharpness is great and way better than the FT 70-300 (which I suspect was made for Olympus by Sigma based on a Sigma design). I have borrowed a mk I 50-200 from Ian to...
