Re: E-M5 mk iii - same sensor as E-M1ii ?

I think it makes sense, the E-M1x is the most expensive Olympus camera and it has been released very recently.

From a marketing point of view, it wouldn't make sense to put a better sensor in a...

Re: Honestly, do you like autofocus?

Personally, I prefer Manual Focus. It makes shooting more... interactive.

AF has revolutionized Photography indeed but in most cases I find myself shooting with my old MF lenses that the newer AF...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

Maybe "not suitable" is a very strong way to put it.

What I mean is that the E-M1X size and functions are best suited for action/wildlife photography and the camera is targeted to that segment.

Re: 14 mm 2.5 or 17mm 2.8

The Panasonic 14mm soft?!?

It must be a really bad copy.
I used to have both the Zuiko 17mm and Lumix 14mm; even though I preferred the 17mm focal length I ended up using the 14mm more because...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

I had the opportunity to fiddle with it a bit and I was impressed too.

The camera is a beast. It is however much lighter than it looks.
It is undoubtedly a magnificent photographic tool but it...

Re: Lens comparison

The photo taken with the m.Zuiko actually looks exceptionally bad in my eyes.
The photo taken with the Leica looks pretty amazing.

I had tested the 1st version of the m.Zuiko lens and I was not...

Probably the link is bad?

Re: Blea tarn

I actually prefer the first shot.
I like long exposures for water, not so much for skies.

And may I say... WoW!

Re: Quandary - 12-40mm

The Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 is to replace the 12-50, it obviously cannot cover the Zuiko 9-18.

I used to have the 12-50 and it was convenient little lens; lightweight, good range and weather...

Re: First Try Out: Olympus Digital 50mm f2 macro ED 4/3 Lens on Full Frame

Obviously the lens cannot cover the FF sensor efficiently but it is sharp enough to be useful for Portraits.

Since you cannot close the Aperture I don't know how useful it can be for Macro.......

Re: Oly 12-40 Pro 'out'..Panny 14-45 'in'..well maybe.

Indeed, SONY did an excellent job to keep the dimensions of A7 really small considering the size of the sensor, even if the ergonomics are far from ideal.

Since we are talking about lenses...

Re: Oly 12-40 Pro 'out'..Panny 14-45 'in'..well maybe.

Not exactly.
m4/3 is supposed to be smaller than regular 4/3 which was supposed to be smaller than competitive crop systems and FF.

Re: Oly 7-14 PRO, sent back.

That's quite a harsh thing to say!

m4/3 has smaller and lighter cameras and lenses but when things go PRO, some standards have to be met and "function over form" is a priority.

You cannot have...

Re: Olympus E-M5 + m.Zuiko 12-50 + MMF-2 + Extras

After some serious thought I decided to keep my E-M5 for the time being but I will get myself a Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8

That means that I am putting my m.Zuiko 12-50mm for sale.
It comes with a 3rd...

Re: Help me with my wide-angle madness !!

Ooops, sorry.... I got carried away....

Hello everyone, I am considering selling my trusty E-M5 along with an m.Zuiko 12-50 lens, MMF-2 and various extras in order to fund the purchase of an E-M1 + 12-40mm.

Although I'm tempted to keep...

Re: Sigma 105mm F/2.8 macro - broken?

Try to clean the contacts with pure alcohol.

If this doesn't do the trick, then it's probably a faulty electronic part (like a daughter-board mentioned earlier).

Re: World Cup Final - Who do you want to win?

I supported Germany for the whole tournament and they did it.
Being a supporter of the German side for many years I was overjoyed to see M. Klose (one of my favorite forwards) winning a World Cup.
