Re: 300mm f4 no longer available
Just had a quick look at Wex. They are listing the 300/4 at £1,649, but "awaiting stock", as are quite a few of the posh Oly lenses. As far as I can see there is no sign of the 45/1.2.

Re: 300mm f4 no longer available
Wex were doing all sorts of odd things with prices last week. I decided to get an FL-700WR through the local LCE, their offer price was £269. I mentioned in passing that Wex had it at £229 and to my...

Re: 300mm f4 no longer available
How strange. Oly's own website still lists it, with a price. LCE list it as in stock, with a rather more attractive price.

Gorgeous - but my goodness, cold! Love the broad sweep of the valley turned almost monochrome by the frost.

Some drool-worthy kit there, OM!
There was a doc on TV a while back about a "society photographer" from Scotland who used to pap people in Knightsbridge. Dougie somebody, I think. It looked as...

Re: Old om2 user
Yes it does, as do the fancy T-series macro flashes etc. No TTL exposure control though, I think - but the flash's own Auto mode should still work OK.

Re: Lens roadmap due
The main cause of my bafflement is that we already have the 12-40 f/2.8, which is a lovely lens. Going to 45 rather than 40 doesn't look like much of a bonus, certainly not enough to justify...

Re: Lens roadmap due
I wonder what the point is of the 12-45 f/4. I suppose it must be really small to make it worth doing, unless it has some extra kind of fairy dust.

It's a fairly recent addition so probably not in the standalone version. In Lightroom Classic CC (the subscription version of the standalone desktop program) it is in the "Presence" section,...

Thanks OM, that sounds like pretty much my understanding. Of course, the radio bit is like a telephone, in that if you only have one it is about as much use as a chocolate teapot. But if you want a...

Has anybody tried using the new system? I have been thinking about getting a newer flash, mainly prompted by the occasional desire to shoot in the rain. The FL-50s and friends terrify me if there is...

Interesting Dave, is it a composite or a single shot of something weird?

Thanks for clarifying, I didn't know that. I am not sure whether it is a good or bad idea overall. Probably, like a rather too many things, it's a good idea which is open to abuse by people with bad...

Re: It’s all Greek to me!
Russian did import a few letters from Greek to augment the earlier Cyrillic alphabet. I'm not sure exactly which ones, but the modern Russian F, G and P certainly look similar to their Greek...
