Re: Springtime

These all portray a really pleasant feeling. I guess when it gets really hot you look back on these lovely spring days, a bit like we (well, I do anyway) look back on summer in the cold, dark, wet...

Re: The Goodwood Revival (image heavy)

Agreed, a great and atmospheric set. If I had to pick a favourite I would be torn between Just Google It and the girl on the carousel with pint in one hand taking a selfie with the other.

You are...

Re: Upcoming Exhibition

Best of luck Dave. If I go to The Smoke during October I will try and fit in a detour out East.

What you say about the selection process is very interesting. I will certainly look forward to...

Re: Photo Challenge August 2019: Heritage

Well done all, some excellent stuff for us to enjoy - as always.

This was an interesting topic for the challenge - there is a wide variety of subjects and approaches while still remaining within...

Re: New territory for me - E-M1 shutter stuck!

I can vouch for Luton (not recently though) and since they are just up the road from you why not pop in and see them? I always found them knowledgeable and helpful. If you have a spare hour you can...

Re: A Day at the Seaside

Not only are they good photos, I like the slightly subdued colour palette more each time I look. Presumably this is the effect of the Kodachrome setting.

Another vote for Luton, they have done a few repairs for me and always been good.

Re: Photo Challenge August 2019: Heritage

I'll have a go with this one. Not in the expectation of any votes, it is just a plain record shot and not a particularly good one, but because I think it is an interesting illustration of the theme...

Re: Galloway Pine Marten - at last!

Well done, persistence rewarded by a great set of photos. The backlighting works brilliantly.

Are you going to carry on in the hope of catching more of the family?

Re: Some colour on the streets of Edinburgh

Huge improvement, for me at least - many thanks. Now I can see the dynamic composition of the Aparthotel photos with the leading yellow lines - having to scroll up & down meant I missed the impact.

Great set, I love the woman with the blue coat trying to blend in with the building behind her.

Could I make a request though - please could you post them a little smaller? They fit on my screen...

Re: Astro Photos

I am no expert on this Mark, but I suspect that warm nights might not be so good due to atmospheric haze. I gather from an astro friend that clear cold nights are best - so get investing in those...

Re: Recomendation Wide Angle Lens 4thirds for E510 Olympus camera

If your problem is that your subjects are long and thin, how about taking several photos and stitching them together into a panorama? There are all sorts of tools available to do this - for Windows...

Re: Olympus items for sale

Normal protocol seems to be to make offers and negotiate by PM. If a for sale thread is busy it might also be helpful to add a forum post like "PM sent re (whatever)".

Yes, it must read the card, but not execute programs from it. I suppose it might be possible to exploit a buffer overflow or something though......

Re: Photo File Numbers

Pretty similar to what I do. I used to specify Adobe RGB colour space but, as Invicta points out above, that imposes some restrictions on what you can rename to. I like having the date as part of the...

David - Ian (Rawcoll) was asking about the E-M5 Mk II recently. I think he may not be too far from you, perhaps you could arrange a mutually beneficial meeting?

***Edit - this is not quite correct, sorry. Please see Invicta's post below this one***
