Re: Seeking Advice on Lenses

For wide-angle there are 2 choices: Zuiko 9-18mm f/4-5.6 and Lumix 7-14m f/4.
The Zuiko is smaller, lightweight and cheaper.
The Lumix is a bit more exotic, faster and with even more dramatic...

If not for everything else but for the confidence it would give me in rainy conditions.

Thery are both excellent lenses,...

Re: E5 or E3

E-5 is a significant improvement over the E-3, cost aside since the E-5 is pricey, especially when you proccess the images.

Dymanic range is much improved (wider usable range) and higher ISO looks...

Re: 67mm Filter

Zuiko 50-200 is pretty sensitive with filters, especially when you use the EC-14 as well.

I've noticed that at 200mm (or 280mm with the EC-14) some filters will deteriorate sharpness quite...

That's what fora are for!

ISO 1600 (in dark areas mostly) will be a problem with every 4/3 body (except E-5 perhaps?).

But, brighter lenses mean that you need lower ISO for a given focal...

Re: Lens opinions appreciated

Zuiko 14-54 (esp. Mk II) is a far more better lens than 14-42 but also bulkier and I don't think it's a good idea for the E-P1 (I've tried the combination for academic purposes and it's really not...

Some sea gulls captured with E-3 and Zuiko 14-54mm II from the ferry that was taking me to Karystos (in South Euboia) last summer.
