Re: Life saving app...

It’s a brilliant app. Everyone should know about it. But... it might be a bit limited if there is no mobile coverage?

Re: Vegetarian joke

Don’t dis the vegetarians. Especially the vegans*. After our most glorious trade deal with the US, they might be our most valued advisors**.

Re: Big news in the press re Safari amateur photographers

I think fat old me with an E-M1 II is going to be better for the health of the wildlife than a far American dentist with a hunting rifle.

Re: Compulsory army training

Good news indeed. Grammar does need improving and, I add, the whole comma after and rule is welcome.

Re: A beacon in the sea of political iniquity

I'm fine with the narcissist bit. Perhaps a bit too rapey for my tastes. I'm not sure what lies in Julian's future either - I hope not extradition to the US. But I hear Australia would rather take...

Re: If Sensor Size Doesn't Matter, Why Buy a Bigger One?

DR tends to be better at the lower ISO. Consider a relatively ISO Invariant sensor like that in the Sony A7 II. I'm shooting a brightly lit night scene and getting fast enough shutter speeds at ISO...

Re: If Sensor Size Doesn't Matter, Why Buy a Bigger One?

Lowest ISO level that isn’t compromised is the best definition I can come up with. Feel free to invent something better.

Re: If Sensor Size Doesn't Matter, Why Buy a Bigger One?

My A7 II has three tangible advantages over my more extensive M43 kit:

Re: Le Mans

Nice shots. I was pleased as punch when I had to change trains in Le Mans, last year (yay, I’ve been there) due to a technical issue.

Re: Murder on the Orient Express

Re: Bendigo Bats

Re: E-M5 mk iii - same sensor as E-M1ii ?

Olympus launch pricing is reliably absurd so I might be inclined to add a bit to that estimate. That said, if they manage to squeeze hand held high res into it, then it will sell.

As for the lack...

Re: Adventures in Franglais, and the Night Shot Mode of My Phone

It's hard. My proper cameras all have digital levels - I'm not entirely sure how I have managed to survive without those!

So, I'm in Lomé, Togo, a country nestled between Benin and Ghana, with Burkina Faso to...
