Re: Plague on the planet

I agree with John. Tourism will have to go. And that may include my 'once in a lifetime trip'.

Recently in my climbing club , one or two people are starting to ask about us belting off in our cars...

Re: Plague on the planet

Are you sure Scotland isn't full yet?
My big official gripe is that many of these 'attractions' were set up with government help but there was absolutely nothing done for several years to...

Plague on the planet

My own thoughts are not so far away.
We have significant similar problems in Scotland.
Video in various forms, Harry Potter,...

Re: Two images

I like no.2 better although I would lose a lot of the top as I feel the 'overgrowth' is 'bearing down' on the rest of the picture.
Like Angelica I would go 1:1. I do edit quite a few to square these...

Re: More Interest in M4/3 Recently?

(Wonder if I could justify the cost of a Swarovski scope on the grounds it would be cheaper than an Oly 150 - 450mm).
I priced up a Swarovski scope adapter and the bits. Somewhere in the region of...

Re: More Interest in M4/3 Recently?

I recently went on a macro course at Calumet. The course suppliers recommended Olympus, not least for in camera focus stacking.

Re: Olympus developing a new 500mm lens?

Interesting to see. I prefer a zoom as it offers a bit more of a choice in composition. I also like the idea of very tight landscapes. When wandering about Scotland I often see neat views in which a...

Talking Re: The Buachaille in morning light

I think "hill" is maybe underselling it a bit.

There are no mountains in Scotland, there are only hills.
Elsewhere in the world Scotsmen can find hills over 8000m.:D

I do a lot of panoramas and have done for many years (1981 with an OM-1!).
I have a set of tick-offs.
I usually use a tripod and get it set up as level as possible.
Try not to use wide angle focal...

I've got one. Took advantage of the July offer, WEX threw in a Macro lens for free and discounts on batteries and SD cards.
It took me a good 18 months before I was really happy with my previous...
