From the telephone number I would guess the 1950's or possibly earlier.

My rationale for this is that if the number was Museum 9016 rather than MUS9016 it must have been a manual telephone...

Unfortunately the 14-42mm is not the best lens for out of focus backgrounds. The best chance of achieving it is to use the largest aperture (f5.6) at 42mm and move as close to the subject as the lens...

Take an empty USB stick with you and ask if they scan and the file in .tif file format, 16bit if possible. They should have a decent scanner on the premises.
