Thanks Jim, just the lens itself. I have an extionsion tube but to be honest the focal field is so narrow it's virtually unusable.

I like my 35mm, only used it on 4/3 though. These have been taken with an E400 or E420

I think understanding the behaviour whilst the bird is on the feeder is important too. They all pause for a second or two, it's no use trying to shoot them whilst they are on...

I really like the first shot you have posted. I dont think there is anything wrong with the settings you have used. Maybe if you could replicate the shot it could be worth getting down to eye level...
