Re: 4/3 50-200 f2.8

I tested too and can confirm Pro Capture L is disabled.

Pro Capture H is enabled though so Pro Capture can be used when the distance to subject is static. (That's what I meant with AF-S in my...

Re: More Interest in M4/3 Recently?

To answer that question... first we need to agree on what you refer to with "spotting scope".

The focal length of the scope is the distance between the front lens and the point where the light...

Re: Olympus developing a new 500mm lens?

That's what I meant with mammals in my previous post. When in Tanzania I found the 50-200 extremely useful, that was before I had the 40-150. For European conditions I agree longer focal length is...

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

Bar-headed goose(!) among a flock of roosting Graylag geese. Not the best of shots, taken from quite some distance. Still, my first sighting ever of this central Asian species.

Re: Olympus developing a new 500mm lens?

I agree a zoom would be the right choice when it comes to wildlife (mammals). Or possibly a shorter telephoto, the 300mm often has too narrow angle of view. Now, Olympus don't offer any high grade...

Re: 4/3 50-200 f2.8

Hi,

"Pro Capture low" should not be constrained by the choice of lens. What may take some time is the initial focus acquisition as it is a 4/3 lens, however, once focus has been acquired the...

Re: E-M1(ii) silver edition or Mk3?

I am in line with Mark's previous post, opting for a second hand EM-1 M2.

I'm in a similar situation myself, having an EM1 M1 as backup to my EM1 M2. Even though many features are identical there...

Kinglets at close range

Been away on travel most of Sep, came back recently just in time to intercept the tail of the autumn migration. I decided to focus on Kinglets a.k.a Goldcrests, the peak is usually the first week/s...

Re: Olympus developing a new 500mm lens?

Patent and development are different things. Now that they have highly capable, performing and well received bodies it makes sense to invest into development and production line for high end...

Re: Olympus developing a new 500mm lens?

You could be right. It could also be a 500 prime F/4 or F/4.5 as F/5.6 is already occupied. The article does not mention any zoom capabilities.
