Re: Rumors: Olympus to shut down camera division in less than 8 months

I like the Blog from this guy with his take on the subject. It does take some reading but I liked it. https://myolympusomd.blogspot.com/2019/10/what-does-new-em5-mkiii-tell-us-about.html

Re: Software updater

I think you were supposed to download the firmware from Light Snow Dev (https://lightsnowdev.com/Olympus/index.html) for the camera, not Olympus Workspace.
That...

Re: Software updater

Just to throw another check in, make sure Olympus Workspace is updated to its latest level too (for Windows it is 1.2).

Re: A Sun Kissed Grevillia.

I don't think we have had the Canberra Gem, but have had one similar, considering a lot of these are cultivars anyhow & we managed to kill off them too.

Re: A Sun Kissed Grevillia.

Thanks for that. You & the others have inspired me to go & photograph more of the Grevilleas we have growing in our place, with many grown as cultivars. I will post a new thread of them as I get to...

Re: A Sun Kissed Grevillea.

Thanks John.

Grevilleas are a widespread variety of species & in the same Proteaceae family as the African Protea as our Banksias & Waratah also are. I can't believe I mispelled Grevillea in the...

A Sun Kissed Grevillea.

This Grevillea (possibly Grevillea 'Misty Pink') looked good in the mid-morning sun, so with longer lens on, this was the result.

Re: Yesteryear's Wheels.

Thanks Harold. There's a photographer on the Blue Mountains that frequently shows his blurry photos (not that I like them), so I couldn't waste the last one either. ;)

Thanks John. Yes, at...

Re: Yesteryear's Wheels.

Thanks.

I wouldn't disable the function, even though I have my AF+MF set in Menu. I still want that full MF function but if I miss more like that, then maybe I might rethink. *shrug

Re: Olympus ED 70-300mm F4.0-5.6 Four thirds

Yes, very slow & noisy. *yes My Sigma 150 macro lens was useless on the E-M5 with AF though. I only had that 70-300 lens out beside me as I had just got it out to try with the EC-14, just for laughs...

Re: Olympus ED 70-300mm F4.0-5.6 Four thirds

Actually, the 70-300 lens is optimised for Live View (Imager AF) & was last updated in FW (https://cs.olympus-imaging.jp/en/support/imsg/digicamera/download/software/firm/e1/lenses/ed70_300.cfm) as...

Re: Getting a Little Steamed Up!

Thanks Derek. I'm no train enthusiast but I hope I can get some more photos of other steam trains that will take the western line over the Blue Mountains in the future.

Yesteryear's Wheels.

After my first steam train photos for the day (four more train trips followed that day) I came back through town (Springwood) & noticed this vintage car parked & thankfully there was a spot opposite...

Re: Getting a Little Steamed Up!

Thanks Phill. There's nowhere to turn the engine around so the diesel is attached at the end of the train for the reverse direction. Unfortunately, on the Saturday I picked the wrong location on the...

One would have thought that, but the E-M5 III isn't mentioned although I checked a raw file from it & it supports it after the update though I didn't check before. I'm suspecting the E-M5 III has...

Re: Brisbane City Hall with new 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO

It does look like you're well set up then. I have all those except M.Zuiko 12-100mm f/4 IS PRO lens & Panasonic LUMIX G Leica DG Vario-Elmar 100-400mm F4.0-6.3 ASPH where the latter may be what I'll...

Re: Brisbane City Hall with new 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO

It's certainly a nice lens (from what I see from others) for travel occasions when just one lens is all that will be taken. *yes
