Myxomycete Stemonitis fusca

I have photographed Stemonitis before but they have been S. axifera or, more often, S.flavogenita. This was my fist encounter with S. fusca.

This was on a dead leaf on the ground, whereas the...

A Delicate Myxomycete: Ceratiomyxa poroides

We see this species very rarely. Our first find was in September 2016. Those colonies were at a smaller, hyaline (colourless) to milky white stage.

Re: Olympus 1.4x Tele Converter EC-14

Only if you want to be limited to full aperture.

You can have only one extension ring or one TC. One of each or two of either loses all electronic function.

Maybe it will be there but inaccessible. I can't access EXIF data, although it gives a date, in stereo pairs.

I opened up the post, as though to quote. I then copied the url, without the url tags, pasted it in my browser and got in immediately.

Re: Car modifications - is it or isn't it?

Some models of car can be ordered, new, with dozens, sometimes hundreds, of feature combinations. Perhaps an official listing of these should be submitted when applying for cover?

Probably even at 40mph it gripped better. Otherwise, acceleration lifted the front quite a lot.

Re: Panasonic 100-400

My experience with various AF lenses, including the 100-400, is that any confusing background, such as reeds or grass, causes any of them to hunt. If I want to use AF for a dragonfly resting on a...

Re: Panasonic 100-400

I had the severe hunting problem with the Olympus 4/3 70-300mm on my EP-2. The problem is absent on the EM1 but I no longer use the lens.

Grey Dagger Moth Caterpillar

I was surprised to see this. Not only was it late in the season but I found it in our kitchen and, most surprising of all, it was on my hand.

We had experienced...

Re: Car modifications - is it or isn't it?

In the 1970s I bought a sporty little Audi. In those days cars were not so aerodynamic as they are now. I asked my insurance company if it was OK for me to fit a front air scoop to hold the front...

Re: Car modifications - is it or isn't it?

Police are supposed to deal with antisocial behaviour but "nuisance" such as frequent, smoky bonfires and regular loud noise, is local authority territory.

Re: Panasonic 100-400

It is stiff, and not very smooth, with the zoom lock off, but it is less stiff after a couple of years of infrequent use.

I got caught out recently, wondering why I couldn't get the close shots I...

Re: Could do with some guidance.

For what it's worth, I bought my EM-1 when it first came out and have seen no need to change to a latter model.

I do a lot of macro* and close-ups and my lens for that is the 4/3 50mm f2, often...
