Re: Getting a Little Steamed Up!

Thanks Derek. I'm no train enthusiast but I hope I can get some more photos of other steam trains that will take the western line over the Blue Mountains in the future.

Yesteryear's Wheels.

After my first steam train photos for the day (four more train trips followed that day) I came back through town (Springwood) & noticed this vintage car parked & thankfully there was a spot opposite...

Re: Getting a Little Steamed Up!

Thanks Phill. There's nowhere to turn the engine around so the diesel is attached at the end of the train for the reverse direction. Unfortunately, on the Saturday I picked the wrong location on the...

Getting a Little Steamed Up!

That is, with Australia's largest operating steam locomotive, Beyer-Garratt 6029 pulling a long line of carriages on trips from Penrith to Springwood (https://www.nswrailmuseum.com.au/penrith) (&...

Re: Olympus Workspace Update

One would have thought that, but the E-M5 III isn't mentioned although I checked a raw file from it & it supports it after the update though I didn't check before. I'm suspecting the E-M5 III has...

Re: Brisbane City Hall with new 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO

It does look like you're well set up then. I have all those except M.Zuiko 12-100mm f/4 IS PRO lens & Panasonic LUMIX G Leica DG Vario-Elmar 100-400mm F4.0-6.3 ASPH where the latter may be what I'll...

Re: Brisbane City Hall with new 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO

It's certainly a nice lens (from what I see from others) for travel occasions when just one lens is all that will be taken. *yes

Re: Brisbane City Hall with new 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO

I'm supposed to be a 'working man' too, with clients waiting for their instruments, but my working life can be somewhat relaxed at times. ;)

Re: Brisbane City Hall with new 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO

Thankfully they made a huge improvement with the 'facsimile' then & with 'space'! :D
Actually, I wonder if they imported ancient Romans with a time machine to build it. ;)

Re: Brisbane City Hall with new 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO

Nicely done Larry. Yeah, there was no way I was going to pick up my lens without taking the camera with me to try it on the way home. I put it on the camera in the store & have kept it there so far....

Re: Exercising on Water.

Yes, it was too good a bargain to pass up. Thankfully my wife gave me the blessing on getting it. I think the thought was it's a 'landscape lens' & therefore I will hopefully get out more instead of...

Re: Panasonic 100-400

My 40-150 Pro lens (with TC) can hunt too if the subject & AF target area isn't suitably sized etc., but at least it's a very quick cycle, unlike the 70-300 lens. I only briefly tried that 100-400...

Re: Panasonic 100-400

Oh, it can still hunt & it takes a long time to cycle through it's range to get there when it does. I've dug mine out just for laughs & even with an EC-14 recently, just to see how it could perform...

Re: A day in the dust w/e-M1 Mk2, MC20 and 40-150pro

Great captures.
With the lens hood the internal slide area needs to be blown out, but after that I have used pencil lead (graphite) on mine with good results. I wouldn't use any form of grease in...

Exercising on Water.

While testing out my 'just bought' (on a great sale) 7-14 lens these people came rowing into view showing me that they're keeping fit while I just exercise my finger pressing the shutter button on...

Re: Bridges across untroubled waters.

If you were in Blackheath here in the Blue Mountains (NSW) you would probably prefer to call it Bleakheath. :D
My daughter has visited my cousins in Wales a couple of times (but I haven't...
