Industry in the landscape

Had a look at a couple more of the recent pylon shots.
Slightly different viewpoint this time but couldn't decide which I preferred so posted both :). Both taken with my more usual expose for the sky and boost the shadows in processing technique.

Like you I can't decide which I prefer: I like the sun and the horizon from #1 and the fields from #2.

Re: Industry in the landscape

I prefer the second due to the more dramatic power lines. Both very good though.

Difficult, but #2 pips it IMO.

Thanks guys. Yes Keith they were taken from Stanton by Bridge looking over the river Trent flood plain towards Willington power station. After crossing Swarkstone bridge there is a right turn that goes through the village and into the countryside. After about halfa mile from the top of the hill this is the view you get.

Yes, I must agree with the consensus, Phill, the second shot does it for me.
You have succeeded in creating a beautiful picture from an industrial Landscape.

I’m glad of the bump for this one - I had meant to make time to reply beyond the perfunctory like. I love these (and your similar photos on the other forum section, also). A landscape need not be devoid of the signs of human existence, and these are a case in point.

A pure guess is that the cooling towers are at Ferrybridge, but maybe it's too far North.
